If you are decorating sugar cookies with royal icing and, for whatever reason, your icing just isn’t as smooth as it could be, here’s a trick… while the icing is still wet, turn each cookie over and dip into a shallow plate of colored sugar. Then let them dry normally. Your cookies will be sparkly and beautiful and appear (nearly) lump free! Here are Jaime’s instructions for colored sugar!
