{hello from Jacinda’s toes}
This Giveaway will end on Sunday, June 27th, 2010 at Midnight CT and a winner will be chosen at random.

Favourite vacation spot would be Algonquin Park, Ontario, sitting by a lake watching my 3 kids digging in the sand. Actually anywhere where there's sand to keep them occupied, a comfy seat to sit in, and a good book to read.

It has been a while since I have actually taken a vacation in the summer. We stay home in the summer and try to escape from the cold Michigan winter. Anywhere warm will do!

My fav summer memory is very fresh in my mind as it happened this past weekend. My hubby's job doesn't enable him to be home all the time, car business hours. He was on vacation or I should say staycation this past week. We don't really have a lot of extra cash to work with, but he wanted to do something different for us. He ordered pizza (we ate in front of tv) and rented movies and we had a family movie night. There was a movie for everyone (our children are 13, 5 &3). I'm sure you can imagine how difficult that can be! LOL Anyway, the children as well as my hubby and I had an awesome time.

Call me crazy, but I love NYC the whole year through! I do remember hating the heat the last time I was there in the summer, but I think it's worth it :)

MMMM! Fav vaca spot for the summer – on a little lake in northern Wisconsin. Summer cookouts, playing bocce ball with the husband, and the kids swimming in the lake. At night we wrap up in camping quilts and sit by the fire.

My fave summer memories as a kid always involve the ice cream man and his infamous chimes.
this book looks fun btw!

I love it right here in my backyard in the pool with my family and friends.

The best vacation our family ever took was to Cocoa Beach, Florida. It was a quiet spot on the beach, and we had a great time playing in the ocean. We drove in to Orlando, about an hour's drive away, but the ocean lured us back to our original hideaway!! Now that we have 5 children, any quiet day at home is a nice break, but we'd love to go back to Cocoa Beach again!!

One of the best vacations I ever took was to Hilton Head. We went in early June, and really it wasn't all that hot. I swear it's hotter here in Ohio! The temp was 99 degrees yesterday and about as humid as can be.

Disneyland! Even thought it's crazy crowded my family always went in the summer…I have so many fun memories of summertime at the Happiest Place on Earth! cassidydawn(at)gmail(dot)com

Actually, I love my hometown (Chicago) in the summer – so many great things to do that it is hard to leave (totally the opposite in the winter. My favorite Christmas vacation? The one we spent in Aruba with our 6 month old twins!)

favorite summer vacation spot: SEASIDE, Florida!! collecting shells and splashing around with the children! (and going back home to TEXAS is a mighty close second!)

When I was about 7 years old we lived in Fort Ord Ca. Near Monterey. My grandmother had come for a visit and my parents, sister, brother and I along with granny, went camping. It was the first time I went camping. I learned how to fish and failed. I remember how cold it was is the morning, and my dad taught me how to pee in the "wild". Being a very curious little girl I thought that was fun.
I look over old pictures of that visit and remember all the fun stuff I learned to do. Hook a worm, pee in a bush, touch my first slimy fish, and eat smores. This is my first memory of a summer vacation.

my grandma used to own a vacation trailer by the lake. we'd go down there and fish, hang out on the boat, and get super sun burned on her rooftop deck. i haven't been in almost fifteen years, but i could probably walk the rocky trail to the dock with my eyes closed, no problem.
(aw, now i'm all nostalgic. dang)

Every summer between age six and age 13 my whole family went to Lake Billy Shanook, and I mean my whole family! We stopped going the year my grandpa got sick and havent gone since… I really miss those trips, I think once I have a family of my own I'll start going again. Maybe it'll help me feel closer to my Grandfather!

My favorite place to vacation is…at home (it helps to live in Hawaii). Second fav is the in-laws in MN–I've got some mighty lake love going on!

Its my daughter's 3rd birthday on 27 th june:)
She being a premature child was born with lot of complications. Her survival is a miracle & every day waking up with her has given me the happiness no vacation can give me:)
Now that she is a little stronger we are planning a summer holiday this year to himalayas:)
Hope to have loads of fun:))

I would love to spend summer vacation somewhere other than here! Seriously, I haven't traveled in years and I haven't gone anywhere really interesting, but I would love to spend my summers on an island somewhere.

Eating dinner outside in NYC is my favorite summer memory. Here in the Bay Area, it's rarely warm enough at night, even in the summer, to sit outside after 8 pm. In New York, we walked around in dresses and sandals after dark. I miss that.

favorite summer memory… mine actually was an annual family event. every august we packed up the pop-up camper, loaded everyone in our suburban, and drove to jellystone national park in branson, mo. we would spend a week camping and enjoying two of branson's finest sites – silver dollar city and whitewater! i have many memories from those trips (:

Chic Mummy

My favourite summer memory is camping down in a sleepy coastal village with my family, and watching their christmas pantomime.

I grew up on a farm and spent my summers getting lost in the cornfields! I would pack snacks in my lunch box and take off for the fields. There was a creek halfway back that I would explore for hours. Fun times!

I would love to summer some place cool. Orlando, Florida is way toooo hot! Let's try a summer skiing vacation on a tall mountain. :)

My favorite summer spot so far is the smoky mountains… there is nothing like that humidity, the lush forests, and southern biscuits!

My favorite summer memory is when I met my husband. It was 7 years ago this August. I went to Costa Rica by myself to learn how to surf better. While there, I stayed at little surf camp/hotel. My husband, Peter, is friends with owner, and has worked at the hotel every summer of his teenage and college years, in order to spend summer surfing. Peter was a friend, of a friend, of friend that told me that he was going to be in Costa Rica while I was there and to look him up.

So I roll up to the surf camp, walk up to the front desk and ask if Peter is around. The front desk girl kinda looks at me funny, and says "Old Man Pete?" Thinking that was his Costa Rican nick name or something, since I had never met him before, I say "sure, Old Man Pete." Turns out, Old Man Pete, was a retired porn star from Fort Lauderdale and not my Peter, my future husband. Old Man Pete, directs me to my Peter and the rest is history. I thought Peter would just be a hot summer vacation fling, but he turned out to be my husband and the father of my child! Thank God for porn stars.

My favorite summer spot is either in Estes Park if I am feeling adventurous, Boothbay Harbor, Maine if I want to relax and have some adventure and if I just need to relax and do nothing else but read and work on a tan – Riveria Maya, Mexico!!

Most memorable summer vacation. My husband & I with our 3 year old went to Fl with my Brother and his wife. It was hot and I had never been will lets just say I was in the sun for 20mins which I did get burn bad and being 7mos pregant not fun. We were staying at a resort in Jacksonville where they sold out of rooms where we had our res. at needless to say we had to share a room with my brother and his wife so the guys put the mattress on the floor and getting ready for bed everyone figured I would get the softer of beds will not sister in law wanted mattress not boxsprings and she was very verbal about it even though I had 2nd degree sunburn and chill nope instead of listening to her we took the box springs well the next thing I new was I was really freezing she had turned the air up to the coldest spot because she was hot. I wanted to go over and slap her but instead of that we cut the vacation short with them and I wouldnt even spend the night when we got to their house to drop them off it was late and we drove to the next town spent the night there and off to Grand Ole Opry which we had a blast other than the sun hurt but I didnt have to here all the "stupid" things that was wrong with the place as the sister in law like to gone on about.. They are no longer together which I was ok with that she was a strange one that one was. That part of that vacation will always be a reminder to me just watch who you vaction with. We had stayed at their house for a couple of days and that should have been a warning. But I loved seeing my brother he just got back from overseas in Germany where he and married her and they both were in the Army at the time. Sorry if it was a little long I could really cut it much more just so you would have an idea. Thank you for the chance at the book. I love all her fabric lines.

My fiance' (then boyfriend) and I hadn't been together very long when we decided to 4th of July road-trip from the middle of the map to Myrtle Beach. We made so many memories that week!

My favorite spot is Portland, OR. I live here. The sky is grey most of the year, so during the Summer, everyone is out having fun, and it's just so exciting to walk around the city. Lots of interesting people watching, too. Our motto is "Keep Portland Weird", and I think we're doing a pretty good job of it !

so far i have not had a good summer story. But we took to vacation Frankenmuth, MI.
I got sick from my ulcers and my husband was bored. The food sucked in the small town (i am very particular with my foods)and found a nice little restaurant outside the little city and met a wonderful woman who makes wonderful food. found out that she comes from Grand Rapids, where we live. πŸ˜€
ohhh…. our favorite "summer" trips are the ones we take to Florida in January because it is freezing cold here in Michigan. πŸ˜€

I love to summer anywhere as long as I'm camping! Every summer growing up, my family would always go camping, and we never went to the same place twice. It was always an adventure, finding new fishing spots, hiking trails, and what-nots.
I have soo many hilarious stories from our camping adventures, like, there was one time when my dad was trying to light our campfire with one of those extra long lighters, and it decided it was going to blow up in his hands, so he threw it at my mom. My mom has yet to let him live THAT one down.
Or, the time where we were attacked my raccoons during the middle of the night. Our tent was surrounded by this family of raccoons, and they were scratching at our tent. What made it worse was that they were back lit by the fires from the surrounding campers, so their shadows were HUGE! hahaha!

Hawaii!! Specifically Kailua on the island of Oaho, where I have family. It's walking distance to the beach, but far enough away from the touristy spots that the beauty of the islands and the slow calm of summer can seep into your bones. wowza!!

I didn't go anywhere for summer vacation, but my now husband drove from Dallas to Austin every weekend one summer to see me. We were in college at the time, I was taking summer classes at UT, and he had an internship in Dallas. It is one of my best memories, and it definitely showed how much he loved me. And you are right about this awful Texas heat going on right now!

First of all I would like to say awesome blog!
I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I’ve had trouble clearing
my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost just trying to figure out how to begin.
Any suggestions or tips? Thank you!

I would like to thank you for the efforts you’ve put in penning this blog. I am hoping to view the same high-grade blog posts by you later on as well. In fact, your creative writing abilities has motivated me to get my very own blog now πŸ˜‰

Greetings! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform
are you using for this site? I’m getting tired of WordPress because I’ve had
problems with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
