FRIDAY {SURPRISE} PRIZE

One of the crafty dreams that I found under the tree was a giant… GIANT!… box of vintage pom-pom trim from my sister-in-law. Does she know me OR WHAT? She works for a theater that received a warehouse-sized donation of such delights from a woman in Las Vegas. Can you imagine my glee upon opening this package? So here is the fun part, for this week’s Surprise Prize, the winner will receive a yard of my pom-pom trim. Whichever color you like! So send in the comments ladies. Our favorite of the week is the winner. We will announce next Friday! Amuse us!

Wow! As soon as I saw the picture Rainbow Bright flashed in my head. Those remind me of a Rainbow Bright character. I don't know why but they make me smile(the pom pom's).

I make special blankets, (backed with minkee so they're super soft) for my children, for baby gifts, for friends who are having surgery or are going through a hard time, for sale, etc. Someday I'd like to have one for myself, so I am saving little special pieces of orange fabric, orange minkee, orange buttons, ORANGE POM POMS (hint hint), and orange ribbon until I get enough to make the blanket. Help me out, please! đŸ™‚

Oooo! I am a new follower of Prudent Baby and my mind is now spinning over the crafty ideas for a yard of my very own vintage pom-poms! I am thinking red pom-poms to add a special touch to a few discount Christmas decorations I just got…to get ready for next year!

Wow, lucky you!!! I have trouble finding pom pom trim locally. I was searching for some yellow to trim the dust ruffle I made for the crib, and ended up just using a braided trim instead because apparently yellow pom poms are rare in these parts. Weird, right? I could have had red or navy, that's it.

Holy Cow! What an awesome surprise to find under the tree! I am guessing your house is now going to be decorated in everything pom pom.

And on a decorating note, are you going to share how you decorated your son's room with the prudent mamas?

And on a christmas surprise note, my husband surprised me with a serger! I was so excited. I never expected to have one of those for a few more years at least. I am a bit nervous about taking it out of the box, but you guys make it look really easy so I am sure it'll be fine. What is funny is that a year ago, I didn't even know what a serger did. I thought it was some attachment to a sewing machine. đŸ™‚

This would be perfect for my DIY Showgirl Costume. Which has to be DIY because there is no way that ANYONE would want to give me a REAL showgirl costume. I've been compared to Lucille Ball walking down the steps in a giant headdress, but I still wanna try!

A child hood memory. I think it was 1970 and I was in my early teens. My mom let me redo my bedroom. My new bed spread was olive green with bright pink, orange, and yellow flowers all over it and yes you guessed it, it was trimmed in white pom poms. Thanks for a great memory.

All right stop collaborate and listen, Ice is back with my brand new invention. Something grabs a hold of me tightly, flow like a harpoon daily and nightly. Will it ever stop? Yo I don't know. Turn off the lights and I'll glow. To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal, light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle. Ice, Ice baby…

Turquoise is fabulous!

That looks soooooo fun. I'd squeal. Then I'd put some on a skirt (and leftover to make a necklace) to wear out in public and embarrass my friends who have a more docile and less sparkly fashion sense. Bahaha.

When I was about 13 years old, my mom had custom drapes and bedspreads made for the room I shared with my sister; gold and white polka dot upholstery grade fabric with large white pom pom trim. It was very chic for 1965 and I will never forget it. It was soon replaced by purple paisley and Beatle posters in the 70s.

Ok, my grandmother was cleaning out some boxes after her husband died and found an old butterfly costume that her mom had made for her when she was 4 years old. She was the only little butterfly in a highschool play. Her mom made it by hand and it is so beautiful. I think I am going to put it in a shadow box in my little girl's room, but need some more ideas for decorating the shadow box. The orange and yellow colors might be perfect for that.

Yay! Pom poms! At a thrift store I found my daughter and I matching spanish puffy sleaved shirts, but hers was ripped on the bottom. This would be perfect!

The bag of old off-white pom-poms I was going to send to you turned out to be a bag of off-white "cornstarch biodegradable" packing peanuts! Guess I should always wear my glasses!! Love, Mom

I'm working on the Porta Tea Party and could use these Pom Pom's to finish it.

(apologies to the 1st movement of Beethoven's 5th)

Tea parties here are higgedly-piggedly.
Tea parties here are higgedly-piggedly and a mess.
The mess my children leave causes me much stress.
To make the porta tea party would you with the pom poms me bless?
Because it's big
It's very big
My children's mess is big
It's really big!

I've just discovered the magic of pom poms! I made my goddaughter some super girly chaps for Xmas (she is into horses and needs all the trimmings) and thanks to you and your tutorial on using the pom poms to make a pillow I finally figured out how to use trim to make them super cute. Now I'm a bit obsessed with the poms and want to put them on everything! Especially some pillows for the new little ones that are about to come into my life! Thank you, thank you for sharing all that you do!

Ohhh how awesome!! I would love to use this to make something for my lil sassy butt!! She has an OBSESSION with pom poms, truly, when she was younger she made us put them in between her toes before she could go to sleep!!! Seriously, not making it up. Now she just sleeps with them! Any time we go to a store she says "fuzzballs?!?" (that's what we call them), anyhoot can't wait to see what little projects you come up with

My 4 year old idolizes Fancy Nancy and I've been wanting to replicate a very fancy dress out of one of her books that is completely bedazzled in all sorts of pom-poms, ric-rac, etc. Your trim would be perfect! kelliebates22@yahoo.com

In highschool I wanted to pom pom the inside of my car so bad. I drove a 1971 Powder Blue Ford LTD. Biggest car on the road.
I think the pom poms really would have spiced things up…

But today, now? I would pom pom my…mailbox…make it a sweet little surprise for the mail man to see every day.

I'm glad its you and not me with all that fun, beautiful, colorful pom-pom trim! Rather I should say my family should be glad its you and not me. I would barricade myself into my studio for weeks on end crafting and creating. I would, however, be perfectly happy with a yard đŸ™‚

A yard – hmmm is it ok if I just wrap it around my neck and call it a necklace. Well maybe I could put forth a little effort and sewn it onto a nice length of fabric and make an actual scarf. Any way I am coveting your find, can I become an honorary sister-in-law and find some of that under my tree next year?
