Fabric Friday

Fabric Friday on Prudent Baby

I just looked at the calendar and realized today is Friday the 13th, eek! Good thing we have Amy Butler’s adorable Cameo, Harriets Kitchen Sugar fabric to steer this day in the right direction. As long as there’s no black cat sightings or broken mirrors we should be good (phew!).

To enter for a chance to win one yard of Amy Butler, Cameo, Harriets Kitchen Sugar tell us a sweet recipe you are itching to make in your kitchen soon. I’m on a huge popsicle kick, so anything with sweet fruits and sugary goodness works for me. Tweet, Stumble, or share on Facebook and leave another comment letting us know. Come back every day for new entries. We’ll randomly select a winner and announce right here next Friday.

Find out who won last week’s Fabric Friday after the jump…

When I lived in St. Augustine, Florida, many people would put Christmas lights on their sailboats and drive them into the marina. Every year we would go out and see Santa on a beautiful lit boat. It was awesome.

Congrats! Look out for an email from us within the week.

Took my first trip to France last week. I think I need to try a good recipe for macarons!

If I could get over the fact that my kitchen would get dirty again, I want to make a batch of cookies. But right now my kitchen is the only clean room in the house, so I’m going to hold off. For now, I’ll just dream of some sweet fabric.

Blueberry, lime and coconut slice. I have an amazing recipe and it uses grated courgette instead of fat to bind the cake together so is even healthy, right?

I have a fruit tart that I’d like to make soon. It’s delicious served warm with ice cream!

We will be making some things with all the berries we have been picking!
Jam, crumbles, etc. Also have been itching to try peanut butter chocolate
chip cookies with bacon!

I just want to make some fun homemade popsicles! Something about popsicle trays just makes me so happy!

Carlie L

My kids are loving homemade popsicles! (They call them juice-pops). We are always trying new flavours!

We need some sweet breakfast food at our house! I am itching to make muffins, scones, maybe even some chocolate chip pancakes…

Anything peachy! The freshness of summertime peaches gets me every July–a peach tartlet is in the works for this week!

I bought all the ingredients to make your cheez-it apple pie and then I haven’t yet! I’m dying to make it, can taste it, but just never seem to have the time to get around to it. And now we are going on vacation. :/ I guess it’s going to have to wait!

I love Amy Butler!!!! I like using her bright fabrics in totes and handbags. The recipe I would like to try is Strawberry Peach Smoothie. The weather has been soooo hot (100’s} and peaches are now plentiful in our area. I think it would be very refreshing not to mention YUMMY!

1/2 cup soy, rice milk or lowfat milk
12 strawberries
1/2 cup frozen peach slices
2 ice cubes

Combine milk, strawberries, peaches and ice cubes. Blend using the pulse option at first and then finish with a 1 minute blend on high and enjoy your non-dairy smoothie.

I’ve got zuccinis from my garden that I’ve been dying to turn into a bread! And probably the riccota gnocci I saw on the blog. I.ve always wanted to make them, but thought it was too hard. Thanks!

I’ve been baking homemade fruit roll-up snacks all weekend and can’t wait to try some delicious new fruit combinations, strawberry-banana-blueberry I think!

It’s peaches everywhere and blazing hot in Georgia, so my girls want to make peach smoothie rocket popsicles in our Tovolo molds.

Mary Mac

I wish I was a good cook, but not to be. If I could I would love to make a good cobbler of any kind with fresh fruit. Top with homemade ice cream.

I’m itching to make a Cherry Cake with all the beautiful cherries out there!

I want to make Mango Lassi just like mom used to. It is mango season back home in India (where I am from) and my mom would puree the fruit and add it to buttermilk (to help us cool off). The recipe is equal parts mango puree and buttermilk. I tend to add a dash of honey to increase the sweetness a teeny bit.

Paula Deen’s strawberry shortcake is to die for, and looks so lovely in a large, clear trifle bowl.

cream puffs – durian version. haha. don’t think most people would like that though!

I’ve been craving chocolate lately – in a big way. I’d like to make chocolate chip brownies topped with homemade chocolate ice cream.

I have been so hungry for some homemade cookies— and one of my favorites is Chubby Hubby Cookies! They have peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, crushed pretzels, and chopped peanuts– and they are delicious! :-)
