East Coast Road Trip with The Luxury Collection and One Kings Lane

Last week I had the amazing pleasure of roadtripping down the east coast with The Luxury Collection and One Kings Lane. I also made some amazing new friends, Andrea and Meg!

If you follow me on Instagram @PrudentJaime, then you know we were doing a video shoot around the cities of Manchester Village in Vermont, Boston, and right in the heart of New York City at Times Square. For a Southern California gal, there’s nothing quite like experiencing a taste of fall on the East Coast! And lots of tastes of champagne, too. Come along with me on our #LCroadtrip…

We started our journey at The Equinox in Vermont. This was the view from our large and well-appointed rooms… stunning.

We headed out on a flyfishing adventure (pictured above). This was so fun, but my favorite part was all of the crafty lures our instructor hand made…

Then we went off-roading at the Land Rover driving school. It was so beautiful.

At the Dorset Quarry we had a magical moment where the leaves just seemed to all fall on us at once. I can’t wait to see the video.

From there, we hopped in the car for our four-hour jaunt to Boston. It was a truly picturesque drive, we kept stopping to take photos like the city slickers we are. You’d think we’d never seen a tree before, but honestly I had never seen anything like Vermont in the fall. Awe inspiring.

Continue reading to see the fun stuff we did in Boston and New York!

In Boston, we stayed at the Liberty Hotel, which was once city jail. While the architecture retains some of the original cell walls and bars, it is certainly much more luxurious now. And the view was stunning.

We visited a fishmarket with the chef from the hotel’s lovely restaurant, Clink, to see how the fresh fish are loined and delivered to the restaurant.

We went shopping of course, and I bought myself a teacup and saucer in this amazing pattern. It’s vintage hand gilded porcelain, just so beautiful.

My favorite activity of the whole trip was using the hotel’s free bicycles to bike around the Esplanade with Meg and Andrea.

I loved it so much, in fact, that I skipped the hotel’s yoga class the next morning to ride up and down the Charles river. It was so invigorating.

Next, we packed up the car and drove to New York City, where we stayed at the stunning luxurious Chatwal near Times Square. This hotel is pure luxury, every detail is just perfect and the art deco styling is executed so well. I loved this hotel so much, I am staying here again today as I write this!

We had a picnic in Central Park, and had some fun taking my favorite mid-air hair shot with one of the crew member’s adorable kids.

A little bubbly was enjoyed.

In the afternoon we went to see Pippin on Broadway at The Music Box theatre. It was fantastic, then we got to go backstage and see how a broadway show works behind the scenes. And I pretended I could do the cirque-du-soleil style acrobatics that made the show so amazing.

After the show we enjoyed the loveliest dinner at The Lambs Club. The meal was excellent, and the service even better. A perfect end to a weekend of drama in the big city.

This trip was a blast, I made new friends and reveled in the outdoor adventures in Vermont, the fresh seafood and shopping in Boston, and the drama in New York. I would do this trip over a million times, but next time I’m bringing my daughter. Thanks to The Luxury Collection, Starwood and One Kings Lane for inviting me, and the crew from Nomad for being so awesome to work with. I feel so lucky!
