The girls and I are looking forward to making these pretty crepe paper flowers with a lollipop center for all of their classmates this Valentine’s Day. Here’s how to make these tasty little blooms for everyone you’re sweet on.
Cut a 6″x4″ rectangle of French Crepe Paper from a sheet. Accordion fold the sheet into 5 “petals.” Round the top of the stack of 5 layers and cut the bottom to a point with a pair of sharp paper scissors.
Open the sheet and add a drop of non-toxic glue to the point of each petal.
Wrap the points around the stem just below the candy, gathering slightly as you go,
Snip the space between the petals deeper as needed.
Roll the base of the flower between your fingers to set the glue and to smooth the paper.
Wrap the flower base and stem with floral tape, stretching the tape as you go to activate the adhesive.
Snip the tape below the stick.
Cut two petals from green crepe paper and repeat the taping process to add them to the stem.
Use your fingers to gently stretch the width of each petal and leaf to curve and sculpt them.
Hand one off to someone sweet.
That is so cute!
these are the cutest! i’m ready to hand them out to my friends in the office.
I love these! Going to have to make some. Thank you PP! 🙂
These Lolli-Flowers are a great way to encourage kids to show sweet sentiments with tokens of affection that go beyond the cards we buy at the store.
Thanks~
Have a great Valentine’s Day!
