Crock Pot Sweet and Sour Turkey Meatballs Recipe

Ingredients

For the Meatballs (you can also use pre-packaged frozen meatballs):
Ground turkey, 1 lb (or thereabouts. ground beef works too, but these gives me a nice guise of healthiness that makes me feel better about gobbling up all that sweet sauce)
Breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup (I like to use fresh ones by sticking the ends of a loaf in the blender)
Worcestershire sauce, like three shakes or so
Oregano, 1/2 tsp
Garlic, 1 clove minced or 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Egg, 1
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 tbls cooking oil

Sauce:
Apple Cider vinegar, 3/4 cup
Water, 1/4 cup
Ketchup, 1/4 cup
Brown sugar, 1 cup
Soy Sauce, 2-3 tbls
Flour, 1 tbls
Optional: 1 can pineapple chunks in syrup, or one diced red pepper

Directions

Mix all meatball ingredients. Shape into balls and cook on the stove top until browned. Drain fat and place in crock pot.

For sauce: Combine all ingredients, pour over meatballs in crock pot. Cook on low for approximately 6 hours.

Serve with rice and a veggie. A nice asian coleslaw would be delicious, or some bok choi.
