You know how to make an Ice Cream Float, so here are just a few tips and some sources. What’s easier than this?

What you need:
Some fabulously hip and stylish stripy paper straws

Red and Blue soda.

Flavor-wise, the sweeter the better for ice cream floats.

Some cute old-timey glasses. These are from Target (4 for $8) but aren’t on their website.

Vanilla Ice Cream

plus: A cookie sheet, parchment paper & an ice-cream scoop ( I personally love using  a cookie scoop instead)

And here is my only tip: pre-freeze your scoops of ice cream if you have a large party or will be squeezed for time when serving. Simply stick your cookie sheet in the freezer for 10 minutes, lay down a piece of parchment paper on the frozen cookie sheet and working quickly, scoop your ice cream into balls, pop onto the sheet and stick back in the freezer til party time. When your ready, 1/2 fill your glass with soda, gently add a scoop of ice cream and a straw and voila, you’re a fabulous hostess!

Or just skip the floats all together and stick to cocktails.

Those ice cream floats are so fun! I think I'll make these for the 4th of July BBQ. Thanks for the great idea!

Jacinda- of course I would love for you to use my pictures. I was just wondering how your trip here had gone-I'm excited to see the post!
And these floats look brilliant… And cocktails are always brilliant.
