Style Forecast: Polka Dots for Spring!

Old Navy Girls

We know that some of you are buried under a few feet of snow so let’s dream of Spring! As you can see, Jaime and I are seeing spots in the forecast. Polka dots are everywhere and we couldn’t be happier. I mean what is more perfect as we celebrate the return of warm weather than this classic frivolous pattern? Whether you are surrounded by “big” girls, a tiny baby, or a little man, we have pulled together our favorite dots for your crew, with clothes and accessories from  Old Navy’s Kids and Baby Sale (sponsor), going on now!

For girls there is so many polka dots that it was hard to choose. A dottie Notebook ($10/Amazon) and pencils ($9.75/Speckle Farm) will keep then sharp and a spotty umbrella ($32/Amazon) and towels ($6/PBTeen) will keep them dry. Try mixing dots with some Chambray Dot-Print Shorts ($16) with a Raglan-Sleeve Jersey Top ($8) or a ruffle-trim polka dot top ($15) and accessorize them from head to toe with a headband ($4), earrings ($13/Overstock), an iphone case ($10/PBTeen) and some high-top kicks ($20).

Old Navy Baby

For the smallest trend setter, bring dots in the nursery with glamorous gold dot decals ($25/Land of Nod), a luxurious cashmere blanket ($198/Gap) or a cute plush squirrel ($14/Etsy). A hand-crafted wooden rattle ($39/Little Sapling Toys) with a classic dot pattern is the perfect keepsake. On that sweet little bottom, try some jeans ($12)shorts ($5) or one-piece with ears ($10). I’m a sucker for the ears every time. And how could we resist some tiny polka dot flip flops ($3)? Tie them to the top of a spring baby gift for guarantees gasps and squeals at the shower.

Old Navy Boys

While it’s harder to find polka dots for boys, we love how adding some dottie accessories and toys to some preppy basics creates a perfect boy look for Spring. Start off with a classic Oxford ($10) and Pants ($10), add a pop of color with some high-tops ($10) and a jaunty fedora ($10), then spice things up with some polka dot socks ($12/2/Happy Socks) and a bow tie ($14/Etsy). A sporty pennant banner ($15/Etsy), sailboat ($22/Heirloom Wooden Toys), pinwheels ($8/12/Stumps), and balloons ($6/12/Amazon) in festive polka dot prints will add some fun to his bedroom, birthday party or day at the park.
