Simple DIY Vase + An Awesome Craft Supply Giveaway!

We have been trying out some fun new craft supplies from X-ACTO and Elmer’s. Today we not only have a little tutorial for these super simple vases but we have the chance for one of you to win a bin, literally, of awesome craft supplies like a pink X-ACTO Self Healing Mat, X-acto Decorative Shapes Templates, Elmer’s Designer Mashing Tape, scissors, a ruler, a rounded corner punch, a variety of glues and adhesives, an X-ACTO blade and, one of our favorite items, Elmer’s Painters. These multi-surface  paint pens can write on fabric, metal, glass, ceramics, wood, and paper of course and have a lovely matte finish. (valued at over $250.00)
Read on for how to enter and also for how to make a cute new vase. It’s a great semi-handmade last-minute gift! And check out how sweet Clare’s own vase is after the jump!

Check out how simple this is…

1. Grab a few plain vases from your local craft store. Give them a wipe down to remove dirt.

2. Start drawing!

For this hand-drawn herringbone, we drew vertical lines with alternating heights at the top.Focus!

3. Draw your herringbone lines all the way around. Take breaks to avoid finger cramps.

4. Don’t forget to sign it.

When your paint is fully dry in a few minutes, spray with polyurethane spray according to manufacturers instructions. Add flowers!
You are finished! But back to that great prize…

To enter for the chance to win the BIN of craft supplies from Elmer’s & X-ACTO tell us which product has caught your eye and what you would use it to make. ‘Like’ the Elmer’s Craft it! Facebook page for an extra entry and leave an extra comment. For even more additional entries tweet, stumble, or share the giveaway on Facebook and leave a comment each time. Come back and leave a comment every day from now until July 16th at midnight. We will announce the winner here on Prudent Baby.
