DIY No-Sew Headband Holder

Between Scarlet, Clare, and Quinn there are a multitude of hair accessories around the Pretty Prudent Texas and LA headquarters. To keep the overflowing amount of hair clips, hair ties, and headbands together we came up with this DIY No-Sew Headband Holder. You can use Jacinda’s cloud template from the Cloud & Rainbow Decorative Pillow, and instead of rainbows we made felt raindrops to hold each headband. Clip your hair clips on the sun’s rays, hold your hair ties in the cloud pocket, and you’re good to go. Let’s get to it…

DIY No-Sew Headband Holder

First, cut out all your pieces.

– 2 cloud pieces. You can use Jacinda’a cloud template for the white cloud.
– 1 Gray cloud for the pocket.
– Raindrops (as many as you’d like to use)
– 2 Sun pieces
– Sun rays (as many as you’d like to use)

Hot glue the gray cloud piece to the white cloud, but leave the top open so it can be used for the pocket.

Hot glue the sun’s rays to the back piece of the sun. I cut the base of the sun to perfectly align with the cloud.

Glue down the top piece of the sun and leave a hole on the side to add in stuffing. It looks like a little sun taco now.

Cut out two pieces of blue ribbon for the raindrops and a piece of ribbon to hang it from.

Place the blue ribbons so they look like they are coming out of the gray cloud.

Hot glue them down to the white cloud on the back.

Hot glue the top of the cloud where you will place your sun.

Hot glue the sun down and the ribbon for hanging the headband holder.

Hot glue the white back cloud piece to the front, leaving a space open to fill it with stuffing.

Stuff your cloud and glue down the hole to close it.

Place your raindrops on the ribbon.

Use a small amount of hot glue to glue the top and bottom of your raindrop, leaving a gap in the middle to slip your headbands through.

Ta-da! You’re done.

Use the sun’s rays to hold clips, fill the pocket with hair ties, and thread the headbands through the raindrops and ribbon.

We soooo need this- and it’s so cute! I’m tired of wrestling our hair accessory drawer closed because of all the headbands. This is definitely on my DIY to-do list. Thanks for the post.

Super cute! I loved the cloud travel pillow and was inspired to make a hair bow holder using the same concept. You can see the results here http://birthingme.blogspot.com/2012/11/rainbow-hair-bow-holder.html. I also made one for a friend’s daughter using only ribbons in varying shades of blue with blue beads to look like rain. I thought about looking for rain drop buttons, but opted for plain blue ones instead. So many things you can do with this and the no-sew version is a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
