You can’t go wrong with an alphabet print in the nursery, and this beautiful take from Hoot Design Co. is one of my absolute favorites. The artist, Kristen Brown, created a unique custom print for her nephew (the first baby to be born in their family) and people started asking her to make more. Pretty soon she was able to leave her job as an art director at an ad agency in Chicago and become a full time artist! Wouldn’t that be amazing??
For this giveaway, one lucky reader will get one 18 x 26, SIMPLY BABY PRINT signed by Kristen in their choice of one of these three color palettes:
So to enter, we want to know what you would do if you could quit your day job and follow a dream like Kristen. I’ll start: I would most definitely be a travel writer and fly first class all over the world to see everything everywhere. Maybe I would host the new version of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and tell everyone to have “champagne wishes and caviar dreams”…
Visit the Hoot Design Co store and add her blog to your reader and leave another comment for an additional entry. Go Go Go!
If I could quit my job and follow my dream, I would stay at home with my son. I just went back to work not too long ago and it's so hard! Hopefully money wouldn't be an issue in this dream, so my husband, my son and I would get to do a lot of traveling too! Thanks for the chance for a great giveaway!
I just visited Hoot Design's website and I am loving her other prints too! Especially the Alpha Tower – so cute!
Well my day job is a stay at home mom, so I can't quite quit that. But if I had the time I would get more into crafting (scrapbooking, photography, sewing). Maybe start up a little biz (more than the little photography biz I have going now).
I love buying old vintage furniture and coming up with a creative way to refurbish it. I'd love to be able to put all my energy into that to see what could come of it.
If I could quit my day job, I would definitely stay at home with my baby, but I would also love to design clothes and sew all day!
I just shared this giveaway on FB! Yay!
i would open a super cute boutique full of cute stuff. like full time shopping for me! wew hew!
I love my day job (middle school teacher) but I would love to open a book store and read all day and talk to people about books. And instead of landlocked CO my bookstore would be by the ocean!
If i could quit my day job I'd open a children's store that sold handmade products for reasonable prices. I'd also start a family and since we're dreaming here I'd have a play area for my kids to come to work with me and a nanny to take care of them.
I would quit my job and sing all day long and teach voice lessons and audition for every musical I could.
What a wonderful piece of artwork for any children's room! great giveaway!
I also just shared this on Facebook!
I already stay home with my kids, which is already a dream. But if I had another dream it would be for my husband to quit his day job and for us to open our little dream shop. Artwork, handmade items, coffee shop, wine bar and lots of yummy and beautiful sweets.

What gorgeous prints! If I didn't work I would open a stationary and invitation shop.
If I could quit my day job…(funny as I'm a sahm)…I'd open a children's art museum and teach classes there. Maybe some fabric design as well?
I would love to quit my day job and stay home with our children (no kids yet) until they are in school full time. My mom never had that option with us and while we didn't suffer, I was always a bit jealous of the kids whose moms were around all of the time.
I would also love to be at the point where my kids are old enough to entertain themselves long enough for me to maybe have a sewing/quilting/crafting business. I have a small etsy shop right now (lovieandboo.etsy.com) but I am not able to spend as much time on it as I would like.
natalie(dot)bartgis(at)gmail(dot)com if I win! Hope I do because this print is so cute! I would pick the Jacob because it would look perfect in a little boy's room.
I'm currently a nurse and have my co-workers asking me to make baby gifts for them or friends on a daily basis so I would definitely do crafts/sewing full time!
I love my job because I do graphic design, but I'd rather do it for myself than for the company I work for. I'd love to work from home and spend time with my little boy who will be arriving in October! BTW, these are the most adorable prints I've seen for an alphabet. I love how they are personalized.
I would probably try to stay home with my daughter and baby on the way part time, and then start a business to do activities outside normal work hours so those hard working mommas can have fun with their kids too ! And I would spend more time letting my creative side do its thing, and less time worrying about how much time I have :)) I do hope I win this print, I am expecting in 6 weeks and have oogled her prints for many months now and since today is my birthday, it would be a perfect gift to myself !!
Well, if I could do anything–I'd stay home with my kiddo (who is 6 months old TODAY!)…but, I'd also love to be able to devote more time to my jewelry making.

I love my day job and wouldn't want to quit. But… I'd love to have an alter ego with a little extra time to do more quilting 🙂
If I could quit my day job and follow my heart's dream, I'd go to culinary school and become a pastry chef, then I'd open up a bakery! I would also have a sewing lounge next to the bakery!
If I could quite my job, I would become a clothes designer for petite trendy women and open my own store. Who says just because a gal is 5'3" and under, you need elastic pants?
If I could quit my job, I would stay home with our two girls and cherish every day with them!
I really would love to open my own birth center, teach birth classes and sell all of my baby crafts! I spend to much time making things for babies that don't exist!!
I would drop everything in a heartbeat to have my own cupcake shop in Kyoto!
A dear friend and I have dreamed of opening a bakery/coffee shop where we can also sell our creations and have a space where others can come and create. I'd do that!
Added the blog to my reader…
Liked it on FB too!
I would open a tea bar and serve the many tea creations that I love making at home for my husband and I. Yes!
I would stay at home & have 8 kids. true story. that would be my dream!!
Is it wrong that I have no idea what my dream to follow is?? I'd love to redo my house so let's just start there. Oh, and buy my kids and me cuter clothes! 🙂
Hmmm… I would travel and translate – while miraculously also maintaining the dream life I have staying at home with our daughters. 🙂
oh, I would love to turn our 30 acres into a lakeside retreat. I think it could be a fabulous place to host summer camps, craft workshops, weddings – you name it! That's my dream.
If I could leave my job I would do something crafty and creative, maybe make a little extra money through Etsy!
following their blog now too. This would be prefect for our little man due in august!
shared on facebook!
if i could quit my job, i would first, travel back to Vietnam with my mom one last time so I can learn and experience her childhood. Second – i would open up my very own restaurant. Love is shown through food!
i would do arts and crafts all day. or be an event planner! oh how i wish my husband would buy into my inner Martha Stewart.
I just finished teaching high school geometry, and now get to stay at home with my little girl. It is the best job ever!
I think as of right now i am doing what i've dreamed about! I get to stay home with my 2 year old son and am due with our second baby in less tha 2 weeks. Being a stay at home mom and raising children is what i have always dreamed about! Plus i get to make some extra money with my etsy shop Little Jumping Beans.
Lovely prints! I'm a sahm and that's awesome but I'd love to not have to worry about where every penny goes. 🙂
I visited their store/blog.
Love the blog! Very inspiring and budget-friendly ideas!
I love this!
Hmmm… I'd invent something. Be an entrepreneur.
I think I would run a B&B; somewhere on the coast or on a small island…
I would…..be a professional "try it outer." All I want to do is experience how to do everything- climb mountains, can salsa, sew adorable dresses, make my own coffee mugs, build a deck, photograph waterfalls, learn to play the dolcimer- the sky is the limit!!
I'd love to have an online fabric shop. That way I'd stay at home and be surrounded by the fabric I'm addicted to. Then again, I probably wouldn't sell any of it. I'd hoard it.
So, it's probably not something to pursue. 🙂
Thanks for the chance to enter!
I grew up in a small town where the closes decent bookstore is an hour and a half away. I would move back there and open a fabulous independent bookstore. Clearly, the economy is VERY different in my fantasy;)
Oh – LOVE that print! I would be a photographer, writer, and craftsman extraordinaire! 🙂
I am a SAHM and I would quit the cleaning housekeeping part of my job and just be able to do all of the fun stuff- bake with my kids and then leave the mess and go to the park while someone else cleaned and did laundry……Fun Fun
I would definitely become a yoga instructor! I hope to somehow make that work with a SAHM gig sometime next year. 🙂
I work at home, and my job is pretty great, but I'd love to be able to hire an employee and only do the fun parts… like designing people's wedding napkins and invitations.
I would do a lot of what I do now, just more of the fun stuff.. Read others' blogs for inspirations, make things all day (paper crafts, sewing, cooking), and ideally I'd try to get some exercise in there somewhere.
I'd definitely travel a lot more!
I would stay home and sew cute baby things all day long! Thanks for the giveaway!
I stay home with our children but if I could find some more time, I would definitely do something with art and special needs kids.
i would stay home with my babies and spend my time baking, cooking, and learning all things green…
If I could quit my job, I would spend my days with my beautiful daughter, Ella, making all of the things I love: jewelry, cards, sewing projects. And I would probably have more children 🙂
Ha! That was my answer!!
I would be a travel, food & wine blogger. Work out with a personal trainer every morning, and some how always be able to afford the most fabulous clothes, shoes and accessories.
I would be a sarcastic greeting card writer. I have lots of sarcasm to share with the world. I love the Jacob!
I would never want to quit my day job as a mom, but my dream job would be a food critic. Get to eat in all of the fancy and hole-in-the wall restaurants for free – sounds divine! Maybe I could even be a guest judge on Top Chef!
Just tweet about the giveaway!
I have added Hoot Design to my blog reader!
I tweeted about your giveaway – AND realized I had not been following Prudent Baby on Twitter so fixed that too 😉
Well, I did quit awesome jobs (interrogator/teacher) to be a SAHM. So if I wasn't home with the kiddos I'd go right back to doing that.
I joined the mail list on Hoot Design Co.
I already have my dream job – stay at home mom, but I so wish my hubby could stay home with us too. A girl can dream.
Dream job? Stay at home mom. Sniff.
Hoot Designs is one of my favorites. Beautifully done art work.
I would become a pastry chef and open an adorable and wildly successful bakery.
Given that my current day job is being a stay-at-home-mommy, I can't (and don't want) to quit it! But given a little extra time on my hands and some cash influx, I would own a fabric boutique.
If I were to be able to have my dream job (besides now, being a mom) I would have to own my own nursery. I think spending time around plants and flowers would be so wonderful and relaxing, as relaxing as it could be owning a business!
If I could take the time away from my daughter (my current full time job) and had infinite cash and bravery I'd open a bookstore/gallery/cafe/music venue type place. And a luxury yarn and textile store. Or go to grad school and become an eternal student.
Oh, perchance to dream….
Well, my day job is caring for my daughter so I wouldn't give that up! Before I was a sahm I was a teacher, but if I could go back & do it all over again, I might go for interior design. Back in college, I didn't know I had a knack or interest in interior design. I've been bitten by the bug now though, & would love to have that as my job!
I am now subscribed to Hoot Design Co thru my Google Reader-yea for a new subscription!

If I could quit my day job I would create a place where all the neighborhood kids could come over and play with arts and crafts. My life would be complete if everyday I was covered in glue!
I am actually doing what I have always wanted to do…stay home with my daughter. I feel so lucky to be able to spend all day with her! Plus I get to do it all, be a crafter, a cook, a baker, a painter, and so much more! I never knew what my major should be in college…probably cause I have never been happier than I am now:)
Love the prints, Kristen! Want to playdate in Chicago? 🙂
I'd quite my day job, and my husband would quit his. We'd build a family business in which we could stay home with our babies!
WOW-so many comments. I guess everyone wants to quit their job. If I could quit and do anything I wanted, I would start a mommy and me class that would have a different theme for each day-art (go to museums), music (start a mommy and me band-i want to drum), explore (discover new hiking trails), etc.
I'm already doing my dream job! I quit my job as a waitress (blah) when I had my first baby, Emmaline. I'm now a stay at home mom, and loving it! It is definitely my ultimate dream job!
My post is more for if my husband could quit his job. Im a stay-at-home momma. We would buy an RV and travel the United States while my son was still young. We would stop at all those horribly cheesy tourist attractions along the way and take tons of photos. It would be wonderful.
Entry #2 because I added the blog. 🙂
Entry #2. Added her blog.
I actually did quit my day job and stayed home with my daughter. Now I am learning to sew and enjoying every minute with her. I suppose if I chose something different though I would own a baby boutique.
Also I liked it on facebook!
I did quit my job! I'm hanging out with my baby and hoping to make it as an illustrator/graphic designer.
I would be a taste tester!
I also have quit my day job to be a mommy, and teach part-time. Part-time (when you can find it) is the best! A little time away from kiddos is healthy for everyone. Thanks!
Well, I don't have a day job technically, haha.. but if I did, if I could quit, I would go to culinary school. Or go full-throttle at graphic design. Or just take photographs all day. Oh my!
I was so lucky to be able to quit my day job a month ago and fulfill my dream. I'm now a full-time stay-at-home mom! I'm loving it and writing about it at http://aucoeur.wordpress.com.
the prints are lovely. thanks for hosting the giveaway.
i'd like to be a dog or cat or bunny breeder and knit and sew a lot if i quit my dayjob.
I'm also lucky to enough to be living my dream job staying home with my baby girl. But if I were to get paid for something… I'd be the family friendly Samantha Brown and travel to tons of luxurious destinations worldwide with my hubby and kids!
i liked this post.
And I 'liked' this on Facebook. I wish 'love this' was an option!
How is it that I haven't like you on Facebook yet?
I would become a party planner. I love when a good party comes together and people talk about it for weeks.
I'd create movie soundtracks for my dream job…so now I just make mixtapes:)
I am a stay at home mom (so technically I don't have a day 'job' that I can quit) but I would love to sew items & sell them at fairs & crafters bazaars. I've always wanted my own business doing something creative!
I'm going to quit my day job here soon cuz this fall I'm gonna become a stay-at-home mama! I want to do the BEST I can at this job…I dream of having a place in the country with chickens and goats, a huge garden, and a big front porch with a screen door that slams just right!

If I could quit my day job I would play all day with my baby girl and would have a delicious dinner on the table every night when my husband got home.
I would enjoy more family time…and we would travel to see our friends and family more.
I am a stay at home mom, so I technically am not employed, and it really always has been my dream job, so not too many complaints here. I would love to be a barrel racer though
I was able to quit my teaching job a couple years ago to stay home with my son and now my daughter. It has been great, but it has also be really fun to open my own etsy shop, The Nesting Spot. Your idea of traveling around the world first class sounds pretty fabulous too!
I also shared this on my facebook.
I am a SAHM so I can't really quit my job… but I would love to earn a living sewing (baby items, purses, etc). It would also be great to travel the world and earn a living writing travel guides.
I now follow the Hoot Design Co blog!
Liked on facebook, too.
I would love to turn my obsession with textiles into a paying career! Printing, cutting, sewing… oh my, what a life that would be!
If I could quit my job to do something else, it would be to travel and to make more crafty stuff. Ideally I could do both, bring some yarn on the road with me to knit along the way.
I would sing…
I would host a show like Globe Trekker and travel around the world!
I am also following her blog

I would sew all day, read books when I felt like it,drink tea in bed, cook whatever I felt like, regardless of how long it took, and learn all the things I want to but never feel like I have the time for…..
I guess I would just try to be more creative in general.
oh man if I could I would totally sell just about everything I could and buy a motor home and do nothing but travel back and forth across the US finding new and interesting places to visit. One day, when my kids are all grown and my husband is retired, that's our dream 🙂
I have been so blessed I have been able to follow my dream and I now work from home (for myself!) as a graphic designer and stay with my 2 sweet boys. If only there was more time in the day then I could also add crafting to that dream!! 🙂
Even though I LOVE teaching, LOVE IT! I would love to create children/ baby room decor and continue to make invites, thank yous, and other personal cards. Just having more time to create what I refuse to buy in stores would be wonderful!!
I "liked" Hoot Design on Facebook.
I visited her website and really like the Alpha Tower, you can do so much with that. I think it would be a lot of fun in my classroom our in our play area at home.
I quit my day job to start my own design business at home 4 years ago, but then had 2 kids and am finding it hard to piece together enough time to actually work on it these days. My new dream is to have the full-time babysitter at home with me to make this easier!
I would buy older homes, fix them up and decorate them top to bottom and then re-sell them and start again! I love these prints:)
I am a stay-as-home mom, but my dream is to one day have my own cake business. Right now, it is something I do out of my house, but it would be amazing to have my own bakery!
I subscribed to the blog through My Yahoo.
If I quit my day job, it would be to throw all my energy into my family and creative endeavors — food, sewing, crafting, photography… oh man, that would be fun. Thanks!

Oh, I'd open a restaurant with my husband. On the Big Island.
I would be a Broadway musical star. I would also be a fiction writer. I have lots of ideas of what I would do, but I do love my day job–teaching.
I liked your giveaway on facebook.
If I could quit my "day job" (SAHM) er…wait, I don't want to "quit!" but if I could do whatever I wanted once my children are grown I'd have a fabulous fabric store where I'd get to do a LOT of world travel for projects, promotions, design and marketing. Ooooh, fun! Combine both my loves!
Wow! What an awesome story and cute, cute product!

I am feeling somewhat lost right now career-wise, but I'll go with my standard answer. I'd be a freelance writer, writing for my favorite magazines and Web sites.
Oh, how very nice! Congrats on the new news! Baby announcements are awesome!
I LOVE staying home with my son… I guess I wish there were just a few more hours in a day to sew and create. So maybe my 'dream job' would be my current life with my husband around for a few extra hours a day- hahaha!
I am already a stay at home mom so I've already quit my job (by the way, I love being a stay at home mom) but do something else with my spare time … I wish I could be more creative (blogging, crafts and diy project), that would be totally fun for me!
would love to spend all day baking and experimenting, or becoming a travel writer and bouncing around the world!!
I wish I could just stay at home and hold babies all day–I'm not a mama yet, and this desk job is BoRiNg!
I added Hoot Design Co's blog to my google reader!
….and I "liked this" on Facebook!
I'm a stay at home mom, so I can't really quit that! 😉 If I could do what I really want to do more than anything, I would stop getting in my own way and become a photographer!
I would absolutely LOVE to be a food critic. Who wouldn't love to get paid to eat good food?
i would cook and bake and take pictures and blog and get paid well for it 😉
No question – I'd be a full time camp counselor.
my day job is being a mama, and I don't want to quit that, but if I could somehow clone myself or add another 10-12 hours to the day, I'd love to travel and write… I'd like to do all that fun learning too, but for me it would be research for my fabulous new novel!
I love being a SAHM and would never quit…but if I had my choice of jobs when I was in the workforce I would want to be an Imagineer for Disney! I love that place!!

I would be a pastry chef, but without the crazy hours! Just make some yummy treats when I felt like it 🙂
oops – deleted post! i won't quit my day job (i stay at home with my 3) BUT, i'd have husband quit his and we'd travel the world as a family!
If I could quit my job I would spend some time traveling and then I would find a gorgeous place to start a farm/b&b.; I try to live out my farm fantasy every summer in my backyard, and this year we doubled the size of our garden. Between work and being a mom, it is a nice little escape from the routine.
If I could do anything, I would start a farm/B&B.; We try to live the farming dream by gardening most of our 1/8th of an acre yard. Trying to fit in the garden between a full time job and being a mom gives me a little vacation everyday.

I'd move to the west coast for a couple of years—and explore that part of the country. Then I'd move to Europe for a couple of years, and explore around there. But I'd always have a craft room with my creative machines available.
Liked on Facebook, too.
If i could quite my job I would load up my little baby girl in a baby bjorn and document every fabulous remodel job from do-it-yourselfers. Through the blog world I have seen some of the most fabulously creative ideas from everyday people just like me. How fun would it be to meet them and start a little catalog of my own!
If I could quit my day job I would defiantly have time to fulfill my dream of actually DOING all of the crafts from all of the craft blogs I follow! (Not to mention that subsequently, I-my house-my baby-my husband would all look fabulous because of the mad crafting skill I would develop.)

If I could quit my job and do anything else for work, I would want to be able to create photo projects for those I loce. So many things to document and save in a special way.
I would open my dream hobby store. It would be a knitting/sewing shop, with only soft and beautiful yarns and fabrics that you don't find in a chain store. And it would be open whatever hours I felt like opening. And I would teach knitting, and not over charge my customers. Ah, to dream.
I would stay at home with my boys and design fabric and then sew to my heart's content. I would also like to run a sewing lounge.

I DID quit my job to be exactly what I want to be: a stay-at-home mamma, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. Teaching was fun and good and happy, but this is BETTER. And for now, the idea of "working" in any sort of money-making kind of way makes me cringe.
I'd love to be a chef. I dream of it during nap time and practice it at dinner time.
I am now a stay at home mom, but I would love to have the time to write a book (or books). Mysteries and children's books would be my desire.
I liked it on Facebook!
And since I don't have a day job any more, I guess I am already "living the dream". My dream was always to be a wife and a mom and stay at home…that's what I'm doing!! I did quit my day job to do this and I love it. If I could change anything, I would add a bit of my old job back in to my life, a little floral design would be nice on the side!
I would do nothing at all !!!!!! Well, just lie in the grass reading books or magazine, then crafting a lot, and especially crafting with my children, and definitely travel a lot !
I guess I have several dream jobs. I'd love to open a bookstore – smaller, cozier, and more interesting than the giant booksellers. Working in a bakery would be fabulous, too. And I've always wanted to go to law school. For now, though, I think I'll stick with being a homemaker, an expectant mommy, a piano teacher, and a volunteer tutor. 🙂
I am already living my dream job…a full time mom. I was lucky enough to quit my day job when my son (now 1 1/2) was born.
I think this picture is so fun! I love the colors she chose!
If I could, I'd love to become a full-time knitwear designer. I'm working on that dream, but it's hard going, especially with my little one taking most of my energy.
I think this print would be great for my girl's new "big girl" room!
If I quit my day job (and won the lottery) I would buy a beautiful tropical resort and visit frequently with family and friends!
I would love to be a professional organizer. Nothing makes me happier than a label-maker!
My dream job would be to travel the world as a photographer for National Geographic. But as a mother of 2 young children, I'd settle for dream #2 – opening my own bakery.
well I can't quit my job (I'm a SAHM LOL) but I am about to follow my dream and go to college to get a degree. 🙂 I'd love the Jacob print, as my 7 month old IS Jacob 😉 xoxo melzie
My day job is pretty good, I'm a freelance writer and stay at home mom to one munchkin….but…. I would love to open a coffee shop/children's bookstore where families could lounge, read together and sip yummy cafe au laits!
Oh gosh — I dream of quitting my job to stay home and take care of our two kiddies, ideally with help a couple of hours a day to free me up to work on our blog or get in a workout at the gym or ooh! maybe a blow-out! I've never had one of those — and pursue photography professionally.
I "liked" the giveaway. 🙂
I would LOVE to win this print!! It's adorable and the neutral colors work well in my little one's room!!
I'm not sure what I would do, I have thought of becoming and pediatric nurse. Although I am very happy to be home with my 4 babies!
I would quit my day job in a millisecond and set about writing that novel I haven't gotten around to yet.
I'd love to be a book editor or that person that works FOR the book editor reading through and weeding through books submitted for publication. 🙂
