Classic hot air balloons are definitely a favorite of ours, so much that I have a hot air balloon tattoo, Jaime has gorgeous vintage hot air balloon paintings in her home, and Jacinda has an awesome hot air balloon cake mold from the 80s. When we saw Mandy’s beautiful Hot Air Balloon baby shower on her site, Fabric Paper Glue, we fell head over heels for it. If you’re crushing on this shower too, you can complete the party theme with the Hot Air Balloon Invitations tutorial and our Hot Air Balloon Mobile (with free pattern).
Check out the tutorial for these cute Hot Air Balloons on Mandy’s site.

I recently travelled home to Tennessee to help co-host a baby shower for my childhood friend Alison, who is expecting her first child Marnie in July. I shared the invites for the shower a few weeks ago, which featured some precious little hot air balloons — the theme Alison is using in Marnie’s nursery. With some direction from Alison and scraps from the bedding that her mother-in-law is making, I made up a few decorations for the shower that will transition right into the nursery. It was a great day filled with smiles and laughs, and I have to say how touched I am that I get to share these special times with my friends.
Some adorable embroidery work by the grandmother-to-be

I even awkwardly held a baby (my favorite baby, btw).
