I had the privilege of kidnapping one of my BFFs and spiriting her off to the land of beautiful sunsets, warm water, and rum punch for five luxurious days at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort in Jamaica.
A land of sunshine
and rainbows
and fresh food
and love.
Who says you have to bring your husband to a couple’s resort?
Let me tell you more about my romantic getaway with my dear friend Macki…
We arrived and checked into our semi-private villa. Our suite had a gorgeous living room, a four poster bed covered in rose petals, a bottle of champagne on ice, and a private pool we shared with the other three units in our villa. Oh, and our very own butler to tend to our needs (more Pinot Grigio please) and drive us around the resort in a golf cart at our whim.
Our villa was near the newly remodeled Great House, with a stunning pool.
We enjoyed our luxurious free time by the pools, and also lolled away many hours on a swinging bench gazing at the Caribbean sea from the beach pier.
The beach club offered both high energy nighttime entertainment, and peaceful relaxing days by the sea.
The Sandals catamaran took a sunset cruise.
And we hired a local to take us sightseeing on his boat. We had such a blast with him.
We visited Dunn’s River Falls.
You can hop off the boat and climb to the top of the falls if you desire.
We also hired a private car to take us into Ochos Rios where we visited the craft market. This man made Macki three bamboo straws just by cutting bamboo off the nearest tree. Her kids LOVED them.
The lobby at the Sandals beach front hotel is newly remodeled in full modern Jonathan Adler-esque style. It was really stunning.
And peaceful hammocks were littered throughout the resort.
This resort had more food options than I have ever seen at an all inclusive before! There are 18 restaurants, all of which are included (no hidden fees anywhere at Sandals Ochi). Our favorite was the hibachi restaurant, where we had a blast, made new friends, and I caught a shrimp in my mouth.
Random grills with delicious skewers popped up throughout our stay.
And we loved the speakeasy-style bar (which requires a password to enter). It had me and Macki’s signature cocktail, the French 75!
We had such a relaxing time at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort that we fell in (friend)love all over again. I advise everyone to try to get away as a couple with a friend you adore, and if you can, visit a Sandals resort to do it, you won’t regret it!

Good tips for a great vacation. I love places like this because they are close to the ocean or the sea, and you can always go sailing or windsurfing. It always charges for new emotions.
Summer is coming! it is the best time to travel beach.
