This the very first installment of our weekly Thursday series “Jaime’s Lazy Late Night Cooking Corner.” We will be raiding the pantry for last-minute treats we can whip up in the microwave for lazy late nights in our robe with our DVR. You know you love it, subscribe on youtube so you can be the first to get our latest super-lazy recipe. We’ve got a ton of them in the hopper (along the lines of our super popular One Minute Cup of Coffee Cake, Single Microwave Cookie in a Minute, and French Toast in A Cup) and ready to deliver to your lazy tastebuds. Go forth and eat lazily!
We will start with the easiest microwave treat ever, a single serve rice krispy treat. Get the recipe in the video above or after the jump…
Single Serve Microwave Rice Krispy Treat Recipe
4 large marshmallows
About a tablespoon or two of butter
About a cup of crispy rice cereal
A bowl of ice
How to Make A Microwave Rice Krispy Treat
1. Put the butter and marshmallows in a cup, jar, mug, or bowl.
2. Microwave for about 30 seconds, check if the butter is melted and the marshmallows have puffed up and sunk. If you need to, blast it in the microwave a few seconds at a time until done. Stir.
3. Add crispy rice cereal. Stir to coat.
4. Eat hot, or stick in a bowl of ice to cool quickly. You can also trade out your cup/jar for a cold one to make it cool quicker.
brilliant! I love rice krispy treats, especially peanut butter rice krispies. I bet this would be yummy with a spoonful of peanut butter mixed in.
Yummy. Love the robe, also. And the girl.
This is genius! LOL I need to try this!
This is such a good idea! Perfect late night study treat 🙂
Looks yummy! But be careful putting hot glass on ice. Even Pyrex can still shatter.

This is so smart!
I should make this single-serving treat, rather than buying a box of rice crispy snacks. My husband refuses to help me eating them, so I end up starting and finishing the whole box on my own!
How do you double or triple this recipe? I love it! Thank you.
