DIY Washi Tape Popsicle Cards

The other day I was looking for a cute new way to make thank you cards and found these amazing summer popsicle cards on Omiyage Blogs. When I saw that they were made with washi tape my jaw dropped, they are so darn cute and so darn easy to make. I think I’ll be making the Washi Tape Cottage Cards very soon too.

While you have your washi tape out, learn how you can add words to it for labels with the Customize Your Washi Tape Tutorial. Add embellishments to your cards with Kirigami Flowers. They are one-hundred times easier than they look.

DIY Washi Tape Popsicle Cards

Who doesn’t love popsicles? These popsicle-shaped washi tape cards are the perfect summertime greeting or why not craft up a bunch and use them as sweet invitations for your next backyard party!

For the longest time, I was puzzled by wood grain washi tape – I knew I liked it, but I couldn’t quite wrap my head around what to do with it. You know, other than decorate things! And then, it hit me – wood grain washi tape makes for the best-looking popsicle sticks since, well, popsicle sticks!

To craft these cute cards, start with a piece of card stock approximately 4″ x 9.5″.
Fold in half – your card should now be approximately 4″ x 4.75″.
Cut folded card stock into a popsicle shape – kind of like a triangle with a rounded top and corners – or a piece of candy corn you’ve already bitten the tip off. Make sure you don’t cut through the fold at the top! My final cards (without sticks) are about 3.5″ x 4.75″.
Cover one or both sides with washi tape strips.

To make the stick, cut a strip of cardstock approximately 1.5cm x 10cm. Cover both sides with wood grain washi tape. Round one edge. Tape to the inside of your card.

If you’d like to mail your popsicle card, simply fold the stick inside the card before sliding into your envelope.

Pretty cute, right? If, like me, you can’t have too much of a good thing – and popsicles are clearly a very good thing – you’ll want to check out my other version of washi tape popsicle cards!

Happy summer & happy crafting!
