I’ve been stitching away and hanging fabric on fence posts and now I’m finally ready to show off Texas Modern, my first fabric collection. Texas Modern is inspired by all of the beauty I find living in Texas, from glowing sunsets to swooping birds of prey, from farms and fairgrounds to the pageantry of big bows and rose gardens, all with a modern twist. Texas Modern has a southern feel but I hope you like it even if you are from Rhode Island or North Dakota or California. Speaking of California, thanks to Jaime for the dreamy brainstorming sessions that started 9 months ago over a couple of New Ages in Salt Lake City.
All of my designs start as original watercolor paintings and ink drawings. I’ve enjoyed getting back to my roots as an artist and have become addicted to creating new designs.
And just when I thought I couldn’t love designing patterns any more… (more…)
It is almost St. Patrick’s Day and what better way to celebrate than with an entire post dedicated to Irish dancing. Well, not so much the dancing, but the dresses. Have you ever seen Irish dance dresses? Our assistant, Colleen here surprised us with the little secret that she Irish danced most of her life and had gone through many-a-dresses back in the day. When she told us she would be attending Oireachtas (World qualifying regional championships) and asked if we wanted to see pictures we immediately responded with a very enthusiastic, yes!

Ribbon Week! How could you possibly be over so soon? We hope that you are inspired to work some ribbon into your next project. We have had a blast coming up with new ribbon-y tutorials and bringing back some of our favorites but we, of course, aren’t the only ones getting crafty with ribbon. Here are a few more ribbon projects from around the web.
Maybe mom deserves a DIY first place ribbon instead of a corsage this Easter. This mom says Yes, Please! Although I will also accept a corsage and Cadbury Mini Eggs.
Do these ribbon barrettes look familiar to anyone? I think I heard the 80s calling and they said, we’re bringing them back. I say, bring it on! Who wouldn’t want a collection of new pretty ribbon barrettes of their very own?
It’s Ribbon Week sponsored by The Ribbon Retreat and so we shall show you how to tie a pretty bow. Thank you Jaime for the Best. Background. Music. Ever.
I was in love with this Super Sweet No-Sew Ribbon Mobile when I spotted it over a year ago and I am still just as in love with it today. I think the hardest part of this tutorial is deciding which ribbons to use for the bows. They are all so pretty!
Organizing your ribbon can be a tough task to tackle (try saying that 10 times fast). No matter what I do I always seem to end up having spools of ribbon racing around my floor and unwinding in seconds. I was therefore completely floored when I saw Helena from Craft and Creativity using Tic Tac containers to keep her spools intact. It’s a genius idea and I just knew I wanted her to share it with all of you.
