Under-an-Hour Jersey Hat

A few weeks ago, I made an Under An Hour Silkscreened Scarf. While I was at it, I whipped up a little jersey hat. Clare loves that the silkscreened pattern makes her hat and scarf a matching set, but this is also a great t-shirt project. The best part is that you still have time to make a bunch of these for Christmas gifts!

So easy, check it out…

Hot Mess Mommy Holiday Eyeshadow Experiment

After the Scotch Tape Cat Eye Experiment had y’all admiring my oh-so-sexy putting-on-eye-makeup-face, I was emboldened to continue experimenting with makeup/humiliating myself. Perhaps it was commenter Erin who said “Is there anything you two won’t do?” – I mean, I love a challenge. So here I am playing with eyeshadow and being a goofball for your amusement.

I have always feared the drop shadow look (eyeshadow under the eye instead of eyeliner), but I think it kinda worked out? What do you think? Will you give sparkly holiday eyeshadow a try? If so, don’t forget to enter our giveaway of $1000 worth of Smashbox Cosmetics and 10 Smashbox Holiday Gift Sets (today’s the last day to enter). Ok, let me have it in the comments, I can take it. Or give me a beauty challenge to try and next time I may even do it in HD (if Scarlet lets me sleep through the night so my eye bags cooperate).

I’m Dreaming of a Pink Christmas…

It felt good to say to Scarlet “Yes, sweetie, we can get a pink tree.” In my defense, I did not know they would also add glitter. But you know what? She’s only gonna be three once. Sparkle while you can!

When I shared a picture of our tree on our facebook group, hundreds of people commented with their support of the pinkness. My husband’s favorite comment went something like this: “What a fun mommy you are! and what a great daddy for allowing it!” Carleton’s response? “Does receiving a text message saying ‘guess what color our tree is?’ count as me allowing it? Then you’re welcome.” HA. But when he came home and saw it, he really, truly did love it, if only because of the joy it brought our daughter. There’s nothing quite like the look on a little girl’s face when her pinkest dreams come true, is there?

Curious about how this whole pink tree thing works?
