Our friend Carol Van Zandt sent over her gorgeous first fabric collection, Tokyo Rococo, and while most of the collection is beautiful bold florals, this male-friendly coordinate inspired me to sew up something for my favorite little guy. Wooden Tabletop Puppet Theater
One of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to take a greater plunge into woodworking. I have dabbled into it here and there but never really got completely hooked. When it all comes down to it though, it’s a lot like sewing. A bunch of precise measurements, cutting (okay, one is with a saw) and hard work (oh yeah and muscles). So…they may not be exactly the same but hey, if I could teach myself to sew I could teach myself to chop some wood. I called up my woodworking buddy Damon and we got to work. You can get almost all the supplies at Home Depot and you don’t need any crazy power tools. Sound easy enough?

Does your little man need a special Valentine’s Day shirt for the 14th? I think I have the perfect applique in mind.
When I was young I went on a family vacation to Edinburgh, Scotland. Most of the trip is a blur except for the kilt that I got that looked just like this skirt. I think I wore that kilt for about 2 months straight. Always with something under it, of course.
