Oh boy, do we have a tasty treat whipped up for you today. If you are a lover of smoothies and a lover of sushi, we’ve got the perfect recipe – The Sushmoothie. Honestly, we just can’t get enough of this refreshing beverage that combines the full-bodied flavors of the sea, with the simplicity of a smoothie, to create a mouth-watering combination you’ll gulp right down. I personally like to plop my tuna right in and swirl it around, while sprinkling in a pinch of crisp seaweed. With three kids, mornings are extra crazy for Jacinda, so she gets her daily dose of Omega 3s by blending it up and pouring it into a thermos for a sushmoothie on-the-go. Colleen is more of a sit back and relax kind of sushmoothie drinker and has been known to put in splash of sake for an extra kick.
Now, don’t feel obligated to go with our tuna surprise only, if yellowtail, octopus, eel, or shrimp is what really gets your gills going, you can use this basic recipe for them all! There’s no limits when it comes to a sushmoothie.
Before you say to yourself, I can’t do that, think again. Ally from Nail in the Coffee is here to share the super simple technique that has gorgeous results. I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since Ally shared her first nail tutorial on Pretty Prudent – Springing into Summer.

Along with having all things book on the mind, we have been busy redecorating from top to bottom, inside, and outside. Jaime’s patio and Jacinda’s courtyard got a bit of a makeover, which sent us on the hunt for new outdoor rugs and mats to complete the space. We’ve rounded up some of our favorites that range from bright and bold, to subtle and natural. Are you redecorating your outdoor space this spring? We’d love to hear what has inspired you and don’t forget to share a peek with us on our Twitter, Facebook, and/or Pinterest page.

In my quest for healthy alternatives for snacks and sweets, I took a stab at making kale chips. I’m happy to say they were de-li-cious. You can pretty much make them in any flavor with spices you have on hand. They take only ten minutes to make and have quickly become a favorite midday snacks. If you’re looking for a sweet option to counter this savory treat, check out the one minute chocolate chip cookie and the no-bake coconut snowballs (gluten-free, nut-free, and vegan).
Jacinda and I have been hard at work wrapping up our upcoming book, Pretty Prudent Home (Abrams, Spring 2015) and in doing so have created some lovely, fun, and yes, prudent, spaces in our little corners of the world. We are trying to keep it all under wraps, but it’s so hard when you have fun new spaces, awesome scores, and hot deals you want share! Lucky us, we promised our friends from Lamps Plus that we would give a sneak peek at the beautiful products we snagged from their extensive online selection of home decor, furniture, and of course, lamps.
I live in a small California bungalow with a teensy little wall opposite the front door, just ripe for some entryway re-decorating goodness. There’s nothing I love more than spiffing up a small space, so I had fun doing my new entryway then coming up with some fantasy entry way ideas for y’all.
I went with a demilune because it takes up so little space, then decided to go bold with a giant round mirror and industrial-style sconces to tie it all together with more round shapes. Before this little interior design adventure, I had no idea that Lamps Plus carried so much more than lamps. Take a look…
I had so much fun picking out all my table, mirror, and sconces that I just kept going. Here’s some entryway inspiration for you. Let me know what you think in the comments…
Molly from Almost Makes Perfect is here today to share her super simple and cute tutorial for the DIY Leather iPad Case. When I say this is easy I definitely mean it. You could whip one up in no time, and might even find yourself making a few for friends.
