DIY Changing Pad Cover Part 2

My changing pad in Quinn’s room is a little different than the style for which Jaime did the (gorgeous) DIY back in December. The dimensions on mine are 35″long x 16″ wide x 1″ deep. It came with the changing table, perhaps I was supposed to replace it with the more luxurious curved type? Poor Quinn.

At least she now has a cute and cozy flannel cover for her sub-par changing pad. Check out how to make a changing pad cover after the jump.

DIY 5-Minute Toddler Legwarmers

So we shared Stevee’s DIY for Baby Legwarmers from a pair of socks and I was jealous!  I wanted some for Scarlet, but she’s almost two and ladies socks would be too small.  So I was at Target recently and I found a pair of women’s thigh-high socks, yay!  It took literally less then five minutes to make these.  When I gave them to Scarlet this morning her eyes got all wide and she said “MOMMY!  PRETTY!” *pride*

Tip: The Treat Box

Or treat basket, or treat drawer.  Where you keep the treats matters not.  The treat box is a tool that’s had great success in our home.  Scarlet doesn’t know it exists (very important to maintain secrecy surrounding the treat box), but her father and I do, and we use it on those occasions when we need to make our child smile.

It contains little, inexpensive thingies you know your toddler will love.  I always grab a few tidbits from the lovely care packages sent by Grandma and Auntee and reserve them in the treat box, along with random stuff found in the $1 section at Target, stickers, necklaces, bracelets, hairbands, pinwheels, kazoos, wind-up toys, crayons or pencils, coloring books or cards, or anything with owls or butterflies because my daughter loves them.

See all the different ways we use The Treat Box after the jump, and please share your tips with us!

Homemade Coffee Marshmallows

I love a good marshmallow.  There is a gourmet market near my house that sells four marshmallows for TEN DOLLARS.  That is INSANE.  Marshmallows are very simple to make and once you’ve had a homemade one you’ll never want to eat them from the bag again.  Also, people seem to think it’s really difficult so you’ll come off as a crafty superstar.

I made these coffee flavored as a little V-Day gift for Scarlet’s coffee-loving Papa, but you can make yours vanilla, or peppermint, or whatever flavor you like.
