Seeing this cute Tooth Fairy Pouch from Wild Olive brings back so many memories of bidding farewell to teeth as a kid. I can distinctly remember losing a tooth while eating a poppyseed muffin and being absolutely terrified I would swallow it, like my sister had done the year before. Worse than fearing I would swallow it, was that my older sisters would find a way to hold me down and do the dreaded tooth-tied-to-string-attached-to-door bit. Did any of you ever experience that? Did it even work?
Just as much as we love browsing the web for cool tutorials we love it even more when we are contacted by our fellow readers with new projects. Courtney from A Life Sustained did just that by showing us her DIY Etch-a-Sketch. With one look at this amazing tutorial we were hooked. Not to mention her posts like My Aquarian, Homecoming and Sharing Sleep tugged at our heart strings.
Something tells me we will be making a special place for this DIY Etch-a-Sketch in the diaper bag, so we will have it everywhere we go. Keep reading for the full tutorial…
I’m on pins and needles because: My Prudent Advice is here! This is a keepsake journal for you to fill in and give to your daughter, at any age. I do hope you enjoy it, and I know your daughter will treasure it.
You can find it on amazon, in bookstores near you, and also at Paper Source stores. It’s already gone into a second printing, so snag yours while you can. Side note to moms of boys: I’m sorry. I get your emails and I just want you to know that it’s not that I don’t care about you, or about boys; I love boys, I just don’t have one of my own. If I am lucky enough to become a mother to a son one day, I promise that I will try to write prudent advice for boys (but also just FYI, it will likely be about 93% the same :).
Kickstarter we’re loving: Of course we’re a little bit partial to this one because Colleen’s boyfriend (and camera man extraordinare) Grant Aldrich, has been helping us with our video shoots and did the awesome graphics for this kickstarter focused on creating a travel show for the nerds of the world. We love how Colleen tried to play off that she didn’t know Magic the Gathering but then forwarded this to us. Ha! World 1-1 Nerd Travel Show Pilot

I had the pleasure of joining this gaggle of cute kids on a multi-family camping trip to Green Valley Lake, and of course I had to come up with a crafty twist on outdoor activities for the weekend.
Wether you are in the woods or your own backyard, get inspired with these three super simple nature activity ideas to get your kids exploring, creating, and coming home with magical memories of their time with you in the great outdoors.
I had so much fun on our crafty camping adventure with Scarlet and friends, I hope you get the opportunity to spend quality time with your brood in nature before the temperature dips.
And please, share your favorite activities for camping with kids in the comments, ’cause we are already planning our next trip and I would love your inspiration.
It was way back in January that Jaime showed us all how to make 2-Minute French Toast in A Cup and how to make Coffee Cake (in Under 5-Minutes) before that. We obviously have a love for instant deliciousness and therefore could not turn away from a microwave nutella cake made by Jenny at Ichigo Shortcake. This is one of those decadent desserts your guests can think you slaved over for hours. I think it’s going to be Chocolate Microwave Nutella Cake for breakfast today.
Since some of us are still melting away in 100 degree weather these striped jersey shorts are just what a little boy (or girl) on the move would need. For those of you that are bundling up, these still make the comfiest jammies. Kojo Designs is a blog we’ve been crushing on since we spotted their Anthropologie Inspired Knotted Bedding and Anthropologie Knock-Off Curtains. They stole our hearts with the Sprinkled With Love Birthday and Sprinkle Cake Topper. Now they are here to give you the full tutorial for How to Turn a T-Shirt into Striped Jersey Shorts.
Now that summer’s coming to an end it’s hard to find ways to use all those fruits and veggies up before they rot – so paint with them! At least that’s what Jaime and I (J & J’s lovely assistant, Colleen) did for DailyCandy Kids. Word on the street is that celery can make some stunning roses and okra makes the cutest flowers. Of course we had to see for ourselves, but little did we know that right above our heads lay an entire wasps nest inside one of Jaime’s paper poufs. Yikes! With bright lights flashing on them and a smörgåsbord of delectable fruits below, this DailyCandy Kids film shoot was done in record time and I’d have to say it’s some of my best painting yet…
Notice how quickly my hand is moving to avoid getting attacked by wasps?
