Oh wine, how I love thee. And how I love the anthropologie-rumpled look of this cotton-linen blend Heather Ross fabric for a gift like this. I imagine toting it to the park for a picnic where all the ladies are wearing forties-inpired high heels while casually sipping Malbec as the sun sets. Or you know, a last minute dinner party gift, maybe with a few pretty wine glasses. Learn How to Sew a Wine Bag after the jump…
And remember to leave a comment, because our favorite commenter is winning that super cute key fob set! (more…)
I hope you all have sergers on your wishlist this holiday season – they bring joy into my heart. Homemade napkins are one of the easiest projects you can do with your new toy. I just upgraded to the new Brother Project Runway serger, so to test out my rolled-hem skills I made a set of dinner napkins. A simple rolled hem gives a crisp finish to the fabric edge, making them easy-breezy. And it’s fun to have cute fabric napkins for a jillionth the price of store bought. I almost feel like the machine just did it for me and it doesn’t even count as actual sewing. Why, let me show you in this dorky video…
We asked you to share your design fantasy to be entered to win the Kartell Lou Lou Ghost Chair from Kartell Store LA (as seen in my living room above). And the randomly selected winner is…
Jenny T who had quite a list! 1. A playroom for all kiddie messes, like the unfinished room in our house in vermont, which literally transformed every few weeks – from the paint on the wall (my favorite was the pink phase) to the puffy paint on the floors. 2. an open kitchen, because food is where the party’s at 3. furniture by ANYTHING other than ikea (someday i hope to afford better) 4. a sewing machine and the time to use it (oh and the skills to use it right) 5. family portraits, pictures, and kiddie art tastefully creating a hallway mosaic 6. and while i’m at it, i’ll throw in a japanese water garden out back
aaahh… fun to dream!!!
But everyone else don’t fret, Kartell Store LA is offering a 15% discount to Prudent Baby readers good for anything on their site. Just use code BABY15 at checkout!
