I finally got around to filling my wine rack with yarn as Jacinda suggested in her mind-blowing post Wine Rack as Yarn Storage. Hers was empty because she moved all the wine to her fancy wine cellar. Mine is empty because I drank it all.
I’m so in love with my new little nook! I’m a super beginner at crochet, but this has inspired me to maybe give another go to the Crochet Pennant Garland, or try the adorable Crochet Baby Bonnet, or finally finish another Hot Water Bottle Cozy.
The Most Flattering Shirt Dress DIY
Hello my Hot Mess Mommy friends. Ever feel like little girls get all the cute dresses? Well, now it’s your turn. I fell in love with this native-american-esque print gauze forever ago and finally decided to just cut into it. It’s a simple v-neck shirred waist dress, flattering because: V-necks take the attention away from your giant post-baby boobs, and a shirred waist is never too tight and can be placed at your skinniest part (flabby baby belly=hidden). You can totally make this.
If you need to get your bearings for shirring with elastic thread check out the Simple Shirred Summer Dress pattern and the Smocked Sundress pattern, then come back here for the full tutorial on sewing yourself The Most Flattering Shirt Dress after the jump…

Inspiration: Weekend in Austin, TX
I’m just back from a fantastic trip to Austin with my mother-in-law and the girlies. Some kind of “fantasy-baseball-man-weekend” was going on at my house, so I packed our bags and didn’t look back for 3 days. There is nothing like a change of scenery to get inspired, no? See some highlights of our trip after the jump.
