Just a few more days to jump on shopping any of the pieces in our Lands’ End Blog-Up Shop at 25% off! The kids and I had a blast creating 3 custom head-to-toe looks from Lands’ Ends Back-to-School collection. Every awesome item in the Lands’ End back-to-school collection is built to last, with comfort and durability in mind. Plus, each item is stylish, easy to wear and easy-care…
First we have Quinn’s Spot-On-Kindergarten look with lots of classic leopard and fun unexpected pattern mixing. Second Grade Style features Clare’s picks for cool big girl back-to-school fashion, and a lunchbag so pretty that I want to steal it! Lucky for Clare, it has her name on it. Lands’ End can monogram just about anything that will take a stitch. So whether for a backpack or school uniform, parents and kids can select embroidery or a monogram to make it extra special. It costs $6 and takes about 3-5 days. And last up, Gordon looking all ready for pre-K in classic school uniform basics, plus a cozy monogrammed hoodie and killer backpack. With so many options from short- and long-sleeved tops to footwear and outerwear, Lands’ End helps families start the year off right with buy-now, wear-now styles that can be layered as the school year progresses.
25% off of the items featured in our custom blog-up shop. Input the following promotion code and pin number to activate the discount at checkout. Ends Sunday, July 27th at 11:59pm.

We love a “good mail day” around here so a bit of a frenzy broke out when the Lands’ End shipment arrived for our upcoming back to school “First-Day Faves” blog-up shop. I guess there is no denying that these style-loving babies are mine, I’ll have to keep them. Next week my shop will open and feature back-to-school outfits that I created especially for Quinn, Clare, and Gordon, and each hand-picked item in my Lands’ End shop will be 25% off for one week! Every item in the Lands’ End back-to-school collection is built to last, with comfort and durability in mind. Plus, each item is stylish, easy to wear and easy-care.
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the items that will be in the shop and my inspiration for the total looks…
The other day we got a bit of a break from the heat and a hint of cloud coverage, so Greta from Glasswing Floral and I cozied up and made a batch of delicious lavender and lemon muffins.
Thank you to our sponsor: OneDay.com The kids and I are in Rhode Island spending time with my family, getting our beach fix, and stuffing ourselves with lobster rolls. It’s a good Summer filled with perfect days that are already starting to blend together. Hilarious tiny moments quickly fading in my mom brain into another blurry, yet totally awesome, vacation. As I was telling a funny story to Rick on the phone last night, about something Quinn had said on the beach, I had a sudden urge to document it as a perfect 5 year old moment.
Basically Quinn and I were sitting on the beach looking up at the perfectly weathered beach-front houses, a favorite past-time of mine in fact, and she said Mom, look at those houses right on the beach. I asked her if she too thought it would be awesome to have a house right on the beach and she said, “Well, I’m very excited to go visit my cousin Juliette and if I had a beach house like that, I’m afraid I might forget how excited I am to visit her.”
It was such an honest and wise statement from the heart which I knew I would inevitably forget over time.
While I’m a professional blogger, I don’t blog about my family much, and while I love crafting, I’m not into scrapbooking or keeping a journal so lots of these little memories get lost. Coincidentally, we had just been asked to try out a website called OneDay.com. Honestly, it seemed like a lot of work, creating family trees, uploading photos, creating timelines, time capsules and vaults. Phew, it appeared to be for moms much more super than me. But since I had some fresh sweet memories that I wanted to save, I gave it a go. I uploaded some of my favorite photos directly from Instagram, Facebook and my computer… (more…)
If you follow me on instagram (@prudentjaime), you saw Carleton, Scarlet, and I on our most recent adventure, touring the stunning country of Norway. Our itinerary took us across the lush, green springtime hills, up snowy mountain peaks, and deep into blue fjords.
From Oslo
to Flam
to Balestrand
to Bergen
and so much more.
I now understand why the vikings believed in Valhalla.
With a perfect itinerary mapped out by Visit Norway, we traveled by air, train, boat, and even funicular to learn just what Norway was all about. Bonus, our six-year-old daughter saw the real live inspiration behind her favorite film, Frozen.

The Prudent families are hitting the road this week for some summer vacation fun in the sun! While Jaime’s driving up north, I’ll be heading with the kids back to my hometown, Rhode Island. Don’t worry though, we will be back next week with a whole lot of new projects to share.
While we’re away, you can still follow along on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (@prudentjaime and @prudentjacinda). We’d love to see your summer vacation photos too!
