DIY Easter Egg Wall Hanging

DIY Easter Egg Wall Hanging
Every Easter as a kid, my sisters and I would put together an Easter egg tree for the house. This consisted of us spending a whole afternoon blowing the yolks out of eggs, dyeing them, and then decorating a small tree (aka a branch) for the dining room table. This year I wanted to put a modern touch to the classic Easter egg tree, by turning it into a wall hanging. Whether you celebrate Easter or not, this is a fun way to welcome the coming of spring.

Gift with Pre-Order Purchase (while they last!) Because We LOVE You!

Pretty Prudent Home Pre-Order Gift

The countdown begins! Pretty Prudent Home hits bookshelves in just two weeks! Because we love you guys and we love making stuff, we created these super fab coasters inspired by a few of the over 70 all-new projects within Pretty Prudent Home (in our favorite shade of Pretty Prudent blue on a goes-with-anything natural pulp board base) to give away to anyone who pre-orders our book! Curious why we chose a buffalo, a hot air balloon, and a pear? You will have to read the book to find out! We know you are not curious why we chose the word cheers. Because champagne (several recipes for which, also in the book).

So pre-order our book from your favorite book stores like Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Indie Bound | Books-A-Million | Indigo | Abrams, then click this link and follow the instructions to let us know about your purchase. We will send each of you your adorable set of Pretty Prudent coasters as long as supplies last. The best part is, when you have the book in your hands a few short weeks from now, you will find the templates for each of these shapes neatly nestled within, for you to use on our projects, or anything your creative prudent hearts can imagine! Make things! Make food! Make memories! Make some cocktails and rest them on your adorable, new coasters. Thank you for your support and love over the last six years! We hope you love our book and this little treat we made for you.

XOXOX Jaime and Jacinda

DIY Yarn Tapestry

DIY-YARN-TAPESTRY-ON-PRETTY-PRUDENTA few weeks ago, I hosted a Pretty Prudent tapestry workshop at the beautiful Icelandic design store, Reykjavik Outpost. I had chosen this project in particular, because I had been so inspired by the stunning Icelandic wool sweaters when I traveled to Iceland last May. I met with the wonderful ladies behind Reykjavik Outpost, and after a bit of brainstorming, we planned out this lovely workshop. I’m happy to say it was a total success…

DIY Yarn Tapestry and our Pretty Prudent Workshop

Since we had so much fun making these together, I thought it would be great to share the craft with you. If you make one, we’d love to see it! Share a photo with us on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (#prettyprudent).

Hard Apple Cider Mimosa

Hard Apple Cider MimosaI’m not gonna lie, I’ve had a pretty good time sipping on Irish Snakebites and Grapefruit and Rosemary Beer Cocktails, but when my gluten-free bestie came over the other day I mixed up something we could both enjoy. This Hard Apple Cider Mimosa was a total hit. The cider sweetens it up, without overpowering, for a refreshing and oh so tasty drink. I highly recommend it for your next brunch, lunch, happy hour, or any hour.

Traveling in Style: Ring of Kerry, Ireland

This week we are traveling in style along the Ring of Kerry in the southwest of Ireland. Back in my Irish dancing days I traveled this route with friends and have dreamt of going back ever since. With St. Patrick’s Day around the corner and warmer weather on the horizon, we were inspired to plan our summer in Ireland getaway. Check out top destinations, recipes, and our style guide for you and the kids… (more…)

Berry Banana Nut Granola Recipe

Berry Banana Nut Granola Recipe
It’s been almost three years since we shared our Scrap-Busting Granola Bars, can you believe it? When I realized this I headed right back into the kitchen to whip up one of my favorite granola recipes to share with you. I’m especially fond of this one because it is jam packed with flavor. You can’t go wrong with bananas, blueberries, cranberries, and pecans.

This Berry Banana Nut Granola recipe takes less than thirty minutes to make, and can be stored for a few weeks. Just like with our Scrap-Busting Granola Bars, you can throw in all sorts of other goodies to this recipe too.
