Sleeping Beauty Party: The Easy Pocket Pillow

These simple pocket pillows from The Sleeping Beauty Party were a breeze to make (with some help from my mama.) We finished up 20 in a few hours, assembly-line style! They were the perfect little handmade favor with a pouch for more take-home goodies.

Wilton Workshop Link Love & Fondant Book Giveaway

Jaime and I are at a big event at Wilton this week. It’s amazing. We’ve learned so much and are having a great time! They gave us a serious goody bag and also took us shopping at their big annual tent sale. Has anyone ever been? The deals are awesome. We highly recommend. But anyway, I saw this cute fondant book and decided to snag a copy BUT they had already given us one in our goody bag. Don’t I feel stupid. So now I am going to pass it on to a Prudent Mama of course! Leave a comment here between now and Sunday night at midnight. Tell us what Wilton product you bought last, or maybe one that you have your eye on. I’m coveting these Fondant Molds. We will randomly select a winner and announce next week. US residents only.

But maybe you are thinking… hey where’s Link Love?

We have met so many amazing people here that we thought we would link to all of their blogs for your clickity-click entertainment. Enjoy!…

Liege Waffle Recipe

While in lovely Salt Lake City, Jacinda and I dashed through the rain (sharing an umbrella, romantic) for a Machine Gun Sandwich and liege waffles at Bruges Waffles. The waffle was so mouth-wateringly delicious, with a little crunch and lots of cinnamon-y sweetness, that I had to try making one myself.

Most liege waffle recipes call for Pearl Sugar, which is a swedish sugar that most of us don’t have on hand. I made mine without pearl sugar, and they were close enough to please. Let me share my liege waffles recipe after the jump…

The Sleeping Beauty Party: Pinky’s Revenge

We are going through pink detox here at the Boneau house. We had Clare’s VERY PINK and VERY FUN 4th birthday party this past weekend. She told us she wanted a Sleeping Beauty party so we mixed up a little “princess” with a bit “sleepover” and a bit “Beauty parlor.”

How to Make Dining Chair Cushions with Bonus Embellishment Goodness

So I’ve been redecorating the patio with my Membership Rewards points. I found some great chairs on superdeal, but the funky backs don’t work for normal dining chair cushions. Because they are metal, my booty requested some coziness. Guess I’ll have to make them!

Guess that’s also why I am in my pajamas at 2 p.m, having been in a sewing frenzy all day. I added a little sparkly thread and heat transfer arrows to match my new ace-hotel inspired patio look.

Let me show you how to make Dining Chair Seat Cushions after the jump…

The #1 Reason Sewing Machines End Up in "the Shop"

When I spent a few glorious mornings in Arlington Sewing Machine Supply learning about my new Sewing & Embroidery Machine, I met Charles. Charles is one of the men who services the sewing machines on site at the shop (It’s very important to find a shop that repairs machines on site.) So I stalked Charles everywhere he went in the shop and asked him a million idiotic questions. He was very nice and answered them all. He also told me the #1 reason machines end up damaged and what you can do to prevent it! Any guesses?

Next week Jacinda and I are meeting up in Chicago (along with our friend Rebecca from Cooking With My Kid) to check out the latest and greatest in cake decorating with Wilton. We’re such giant nerds for cake decorating, we can’t wait!  While we are there I have an appointment with Sonya from Parlor for a fab hair makeover. I’m going all out – color, cut, can’t wait! What do you think? Should I cut the bangs? Go ombre or highlights? Also plan to check out Longman & Eagle, yum.

I think I mentioned that I had the privilege of getting a little makeover and detailed lesson in beautification from Lori, head artist for Smashbox cosmetics. Oh geez, it was so awesome I don’t know where to start. I will have to do a post sharing a few tricks, but my fave is definitely this white pencil. I’ll tell you all about the magic it can do soon.

I’ve been working diligently on the patio redesign and I can’t wait to show you, but I still have some fabric dyeing to do and a few pieces of furniture I’m waiting for. Here’s my two favorite purchases so far (made with Membership Rewards points). This lamp from West Elm: Woven Seagrass Pendant. Also adore this Woven Wire Tote from Urban (on sale) which I put all my gardening tools in.

When we were in Folsom last week, a family friend gave Scarlet a travel aquadoodle. This is the finest travel toy money can buy! She’s obsessed and she played quietly on the plane the whole way home! It was so effective I had to mention it to you.
