Last week we kicked off our wish lists with Crafter’s Wishlist and For The Dudes, two subjects very close to my heart, now let’s shift gears to gifts for… MEEEEEE! Here are some of my own favorite items this holiday season… stuff I have and love, stuff I hear is amazing, and stuff I’m crushing on big time. Pretty stuff, useful stuff, and stuff that’s ideally a little of both. Enjoy the stuff!
Stalking #weaving on Instagram introduced me to more than some amazing hairstyles. Natalie Novak’s Combed Thunder shop features her beautiful wall hangings. I have a spot just waiting for this piece.
My feet haven’t had the best year so I’m always on the lookout for new kicks. No more high heeled boots for me, it’s all about the sneaks. I love these metallic slip on Vans.
Yes indeed I live in Texas and have a thing for Armadillos. This little cutie from West Elm saves my from investing in taxidermy.
She offered to share this recipe for Caramelized Onion and Proscuitto Pizza with the Prudent Mamas. I made it, please trust… so good! Get the recipe after the jump…
While we loved hunting down all things glittery and gold for our Pretty Prudent Wishlist for the Crafter, we are shifting gears to knives, meat, whiskey, and all things man. There’s a little something for every type of dude here…
If he is starting to look a bit like Grizzly Adams, treat him to a subscription to Dollar Shave Club. He will receive a fresh razor and products each month for a clean shave.
Order him the sleek Komono Watch from Urban Outfitters. We love the mix of a modern style with the rustic leather band.
The film and camera guru can appreciate the Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag. It has a great look and is highly rated for its top quality, handcrafted design.
The Alin Tweed boot from Ugg is great for keeping up comfort and style in the midst of winter weather.
Add to his tie collection with this striped Paul Smith tie. They have a large variety of prints, even polka-dot.
We read about these Jack Rudy Drink Mixers on Conde Naste Traveler, and loved that they are inspired by old traditional recipes from around the country. You can buy these drink mixers at Jack Rudy Cocktail Co.
Treat him to some delicious new additions to his pantry with a subscription to Mantry. Jaime and Carleton are obsessed and love the artisanal foods they’ve tried from their box.
Nike Poly Fleece Sweatpants are made especially for keeping you warm when working out during winter with their insulated Therma-FIT fabric and adjustable fit.
Stumptown has created a Brew kit that is perfect for those who want into break into learning brewing techniques (also another gift you can benefit from).
Treat him to a trip to the great outdoors with a National Parks Pass, which covers the entrance for one vehicle and four passengers all year, and pays for itself by the second trip.
Between Thanksgiving dinner and holiday sweets, these Nike Running Shoes from Zappos might definitely come in handy.
The Survival Kit from Huckberry makes for another great stocking stuffer and has just about everything – carabiner knife, glow fob, nano cache, stainless s-biner, and tactical whistle.
We are shifting gears from planning our Thanksgiving feasts to sharing a few of our favorite things in our sixth annual holiday wishlists! The time has seriously just flown by. This year we are packing our wishlists with the items we are crushing on most for the crafter, gents, kiddos, and more. Since one of the most common terms we find ourselves repeating daily is “I could make that,” it only seemed right to start with our Crafter’s Wishlist…
We are crushing hard on this Weaving Kit from Alchemy. To get started on the basics, you can learn how to make our DIY Woven Coasters.
A crafter can never have too many supplies. Replenish his/her stash of hardware by picking up this Key Fob Hardware from Amazon. Pick up a package for yourself to make our Decorated Wristlet Key Fobs to top off their gift.
Surprise a friend with a Pipsticks Sticker Subscription. They will receive a box of new and beautiful stickers each month. If you order now, you can receive the first month free on any Club or Family subscriptions if you enter the code PRUDENT at checkout!
Jaime has been a huge fan of using Dan in Real Leather as a top source for buying real leather for her projects. You can use the scraps to make a no-sew leather necklace.
If you’re looking for an extra something special, considering getting your favorite artist a Chestnut Suede Sketchbook from Michaels.
Whether you’re wrapping gifts, or know a crafter on the hunt for beautiful paper, check out the Wildflower Gift Wrap from Rifle Paper Co.
Add a copy of Paper Bots by PaperMade to their craft book collection. This book is great for crafting with the kids too.
Order a Knitting Subscription Box (we are obsessed!) from PostStitch to give to a knitter you love. He/She will receive a knitting project in a box each month. You can get a peek at what comes inside their November LittleStitch Box in the photo above.
Brighten up their holiday season with a touch of gold. Fill your crafter’s space with an inspiration Be You print from Sugar Paper.
Bring hints of gold to his/her desk with a Gold Stapler from Design Darling
New scissors are always one of my favorite craft gifts. Gift a new pair of extra sharp, and bright gold Gingher scissors from Joanns.
These Gold Glitter Envelopes from The Wedding Invitation make for a lovely new addition to their stationary collection.
The kids and I recently went to the movies and saw the cutest trailer for the new animated feature, Paddington. When we got home and I was telling Rick about it, we realized that I am basically the only person in the western hemisphere who never read a Paddington book growing up. We quickly remedied that and picked up a copy of the original chapter book, which Clare and I have been enjoying at bedtime for the past few weeks in anticipation of the film. So when we were asked to create a project to celebrate the movie which hits theaters on January 16th, we couldn’t say no to the little bear from darkest Peru. It’s based on the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER) and the cast includes Nicole Kidman and Hugh Bonneville.
Read on for our easy “in an evening” bear paw pillow tutorial. It’s the perfect quick project for curling up and stitching by the fire, and makes a great gift, along with a Paddington book, of course.
You don’t need a dehydrator(although I totally want one) to make beautiful and tasty dried citrus slices. I made these to cut into garnish for an appetizer but the uses for dried citrus slices are a-plenty. For travel or office days, folks love to keep a jar on hand to add to tea or water. Dare I add a cocktail to that list? They are also great for decorating sweet treats, stringing as a garland, simply displaying in a bowl, or even just snacking. Meyer Lemons, like I used here, or oranges work best. Limes are pretty for a decoration but taste quite bitter. Here’s how you make a batch… (more…)

Ahh, the season of cozy is here: Fall. In Los Angeles that means cool breezes, changing leaves, and warm scarves.
Wait no, it’s 87 degrees.
We may live in the land without seasons, but come fall I still crave all things pumpkin spice. So Colleen and I experimented and came up with this perfect pop to satisfy our need for cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin goodness. It sounds a little funky, but I promise ye shall be grateful for this recipe.
